ANG PAGBABALIK

Ako ay nagbabalik.

At naglipat-bahay.

WELCOME BACK sa akin.

Maligayang pagbabasa. :)

PARA KAY MAMA

Di ko alam paano sisimulan
Nais maiparating ang nararamdaman
Sa pamamagitan ng nilalaman
Nitong aking munting kasulatan

Kaya habang may paraan
Habang meron pang kakayahan
Huwag na huwag kalimutan
Na tayo ay may mga kahinaan

Dalawang buwan na ang nakakaraan
Mula ng aming ina ay mamaalam
Ngunit hindi ito dahilan
Para siya ay makalimutan

Ang aming ina na umagapay
Sa lahat ng pagsubok ng buhay
Nag-alaga at sumuporta ng walang humpay
Higit sa lahat ay nagmahal ng tunay

Ang kanyang pag-aaruga at pagkalinga
Ay nakakawala ng pangamba
Dulot ay tuwa at saya
Na siya naming maaalala

Ang isang inang huwaran
Na aming nasilayan
At nagdulot ng kasiyahan
ay hindi makakaligtaan magpakailanman

Hindi matigil ang pagtangis
Sa oras ng kanyang pag-alis
Sapagkat siya ay walang kaparis
Tila ba pangyayari’y kaybilis

Mahirap mang tanggapin
Na siya ay wala na sa amin
At hindi maiwasang alalahanin
Subalit kailangang kayanin

Kaya’t sa aming pangungulila
Pilit inaalala

Maraming Salamat. We miss you so much…

SA WAKAS!

Whew! Sa wakas, eto na ko! Antagal ko ring di nagparamdam ah… Dami ko na-miss… Naging busy-busyhan kuno.

(Yehey! In na ko! Nyahahaha!)

FULL MOON

Teka, nakita nyo ba yung full moon noong January 29? Anlaki at Anliwanag. Kaya no choice, kelangang mag-charge muna.

The Wolf Moon

Pasensya na sa photo quality. Nasa wishlist ko for 2010 ang DSLR.

ELEKSYON

SMALL TALK

**Miko, is my 5-year old nephew

——————————–

Miko: Why is your hair like that? (referring to the other kid’s curly hair)

Child2: My hair is like this since I was born. I am from Ethiopia. My father is Ethiopian, my mother is Ethiopian…

Child3: (joining the conversation) Me, I am a Filipino. My father is Filipino, my mother is Filipino, and my brother is Filipino. But I was born in the United States.

Miko: (musing) Me… (paused) I was born in… our house!

— Hahaha! I thought he would say something else… something to outdo his playmates… and that wasn’t even true. He was born at Manila Doctors.

——————————–

My sister’s bestfriend and her son came for a visit. While my sister was upstairs, Miko, being the entertainer, came over to the guests and started telling stories to her mom’s friend… In the middle of their chat, he pointed to the couch where they were seated, and blurted out — “You know what? Before, there was a cockroach here.” – talking about kids spontaneity!

——————————–

One day, Miko and his mom were having a discussion about different animals. When all of a sudden, Miko said to his mom, “Mama, it’s the animal that God did not make.” His mom was baffled. Miko then added, “It starts with letter D.” It turned out he was referring to a dragon… and he was right, because indeed, God did not make dragons. – smart kid!

——————————–

One evening, on our way home, Miko asked me, “Why does the moon keep following us?” Thinking that it’s merely “one-of-those-out-of-this-world questions” he usually asks, I just gave him a short easy answer, “It’s because, the earth is moving.”

There came the follow-up question. “If this planet is moving, how come we don’t feel it?”

My response?… “Ask me later, I need to take a nap.”

——————————–

Sometimes I find it hard talking to him, especially when i have to explain to him the answers to this sort of questions:

“What is the difference between a crocodile and an alligator? Where are dinosaurs from? What is Gravity? Are we on gravity? How can astronauts breathe?”

My gosh! It’s really giving me a headache!

——————————–

In his first year of school, they were asked to draw a family picture. (Read: Miko has an elder brother and an elder sister)

He drew five figures — that of a “big male and female”, a “smaller male and female”, and a little boy. He was given a star for a job well done.

Upon reaching home, he proudly showed the drawing to his dad and mom. They asked Miko to identify the images. He goes, “This is papa (big male), mama (big female), kuya (smaller male), ate Melissa (smaller female) and this is me (little boy).

PUNCHLINE: His elder sister’s name isn’t Melissa. Melissa was his “yaya”. He got the numbers right, but representations, NOT!

——————————–

This kid is such a charming little boy… and aside from being so charming, I must say that he is really smart. Well, I know it’s natural for toddlers like him to ask never-ending-questions, but his are mostly mind-boggling. :rolls eyes:

Oh, by the way, he has exceptional drawing skills, too. Below are some of the artworks he did a year ago: (I don’t have soft copies of his latest works)

NINJABOY

Speed Racer Sports Car

BEN 10

Transformers

Can you find the Captain?

Kids nowadays are remarkably talented.

That’s about it. Hehehe. :-P

FREE GIFT

Madalas tong makita sa mga department stores or shops lalo na pag sale or promo season. Minsan pa may nakalagay na “for first 50 buyers only”.

REDUNDANT much?

YOU’RE INVITED

It’s my birthday TODAY! Seryoso!…  Batiin nyo ako.. :-P

Invited kayo sa isang Birthday Party

Here’s the letter-invitation. Read on.

Hello, dear readers. Well, as you know, it’s time for my birthday again. Last year they had a real big party for me and it seems like they will again this year. After all, they’ve been shopping and preparing for it months now, and there have been announcements and advertisements almost every day about how soon it’s coming. They really do go overboard about it, but it’s nice to know that at least on one day of the year, some people are thinking about me a little.

You know, it’s been many years now since they first started celebrating my birthday. Back then, they seemed to realize and appreciate how much I had done for them. But most people nowadays seem to hardly know what my birthday is all about, how much fun it is for the little children. Just the same, it seems that most folks are missing the point of it all.

Like last year, for example: When my birthday came around, they threw a big party, but – can you believe it? – I wasn’t even invited! Imagine! – The guest of honor, and they forgot all about me! Here they had begun preparing for the festivities two months in advance, but when the big day came, I was left out in the cold! Well, it has happened so many times in recent years, I wasn’t even surprised. Even though I wasn’t invited, I thought I’d quietly slip in anyway. So I came in and stood off to the side.

Everyone was drinking, laughing, and having a grand time, when all of a sudden, in came this fat fellow in a bright red suit, wearing a phony white beard, and shouting, “Ho Ho Ho”. He looked like he’d had more than enough to drink, but he somehow managed to weave his way across the floor while everyone cheered when he collapsed into a big armchair, all the children went running over to him excitedly yellin, “Santa! Santa!” I mean, you’d have thought he was the guest of honor and the whole holiday was in his honor.

Then he begun telling them the most ridiculous stories you’ve ever heard! – that he lived in the North Pole with a crew of dwarfs and that every year on my birthday he rides in his sleigh pulled by a bunch of flying reindeers, delivering presents to children all over the world. I mean, there wasn’t a word of truth in anything he said! – Imagine, telling such poor, little, impressionable kids such far-fetched fables!

Finally, I just had to leave. I walked out of the door, and it was hardly surprising that no one even noticed that I was gone. As I walked down the street afterward, I felt about as lonely and forlorn as a stray dog. I could hardly remember the last time I’d felt that low. Maybe you don’t think I cry – but I did that night.

That’s why I was so touched when I came by your house that evening, and you and your little family took me in and treated me royally. I was really deeply moved when you all sang “Happy Birthday” to me. It had been such a long time since anyone had thought of doing that. I want to tell you that I really treasure friends like you. It’s comforting to know that there are a few other folks like yourselves who are close to me, who celebrate my birthday with a nice time of fellowship and a simple meal together. I never miss being with them on that day.

That little manger scene you had put in the corner of your living room was really touching! It’s sweet of people to commemorate my birthday like that. But did you know that nowadays, in some countries, the authorities won’t even allow manger scenes to be placed in the parks, streets or public places anymore? Not to mention their schools. And I’m not talking about Communist countries. I’m talking about the “good USA”, imagine! What could be more innocent than a manger scene to remind people of my birthday? – And yet they ban it! They’ve actually passed laws against it and made it illegal! What’s this world coming to?

Another thing that amazes me is how, on my birthday, instead of giving me presents, most people give gifts to each other – and to top it all off, it’s usually all kinds of stuff they don’t even need! Let me ask you, wouldn’t you find it odd if when your birthday came along, all your friends decided to celebrate it by giving each other presents and never gave you a thing?

Someone once told me, “Well, it’s because you’re not around like other people are, so how can we give you a present?” you know my answer to that one: I said, “Listen, any gift you give to your needy fellowmen, I’ll count as if you gave it to me personally.” (See Matthew 25:34-40)

Well, sad to say, things are getting worse each year. You can just imagine my shock a few years ago when I began seeing them taking my name out of my birthday greeting and replacing it with an “X”. What an insult! Think of it – “X-mas!” – What if I wrote you a birthday card and said, “Happy Birthday, X”, you’d probably never talk to me again! And that’s just about how I feel. I mean what more could they do to push me right out of the picture of my own birthday?

It reminds me of what happened recently to a friend of mine, a sweet elderly fellow. He’s from the poorer side of the town and has been trying unsuccessfully for years to join the Church. But it was a very exclusive Church for the “proper” kind of folks, and they just did not think he was good enough to be a member. I found him one day sitting by the Church steps with his head on his hands, bowed, and I asked him what was wrong. He told me about it, I put my arm around his shoulder and told him I knew just how he felt. “I have been wanting to enter the same Church for twenty years and they’ve never let me in either.”

Well, there’s an end to my patience. So, I am going to let you in on a secret, dear reader. Now this is something I’ve been planning of holding for quite some time, but the way things are going, I think I’m planning of holding my own party! How about that? It’s going to be the biggest, most fantastic feast you could possibly imagine! It might still take a little while before I could complete all the preparations, so it might not happen this year. But I’m sending out the invitations now anyway, because I know you’ll want to come. There’s going to be room for billions, for everyone who wants to come. Some really famous old timers and celebrities are going to be there, and I’ll reserve you a seat right with them. (Matthew 8:11)

So hold on to your hat because when everything is ready, I’m going to spring it as a big surprise! – and a lot of people are going to be left out in the cold. I want you to come, and I’ll reserve you a place and write your name in large golden letters in my great big Guest Book!

Much love,

Jesus

P.S. – If you want your dear ones and friends to be invited to my big surprise party, tell them about this letter.

The last time I came across this letter, I encountered diverse reactions. This time, I want to hear (read) yours. What can you say?

50 Days To Go

Dear Readers,little boy

In 50 days… it’s Christmas time!

With that, please allow me to share something with you.

Last weekend, while I was removing clutter from my room, I got this piece of paper. It contains a story which I read almost a decade ago. This story really captured my heart. The first time I read it, I reproduced it and distributed to people I know.

So, now that this is in my hands again, I would like to share this touching story with you. I HAVE TO.

**This is a true story. Individual’s names have been withheld upon request.

“NO, SANTA CAN’T GO WHERE MY SISTER IS.”

I hurried into the local department store to grab some last minute Christmas gifts. I looked at all the people and grumbled to myself. I would be in here forever and I just had so much to do. Christmas was beginning to become such a drag. I wished that I could just sleep through Christmas. But I hurried the best I could through all the people to the toy department. Once again I kind of mumbled to myself at the prices of all these toys. And wondered if the grandkids would even play with them.

I found myself in the doll aisle. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a little boy about five holding a lovely doll. He kept touching her hair and he held her so gently. I could not seem to help myself. I just kept looking over at the little boy and wondered who the doll was for. I watched him turn to a woman and he called his aunt by name and said, “Are you sure I don’t have enough money?” She replied a bit impatiently, “You know that you don’t have enough money for it.

The aunt told the little boy not to go anywhere that she had to go get some other things and would be back in a few minutes. And then she left the aisle. The boy continued to hold the doll. After a bit I asked the boy who the doll was for.

He said, “It is the doll my sister wanted so badly for Christmas. She just knew that Santa would bring it.”

I told him that maybe Santa was going to bring it.

He said, “No, Santa can’t go where my sister is.” “I have to give the doll to my Mama to take to her.”

I asked him where his sister was. He looked at me with the saddest eyes and said “She has gone to be with Jesus. My Daddy says that Mama is going to have to go to be with her.”

My heart nearly stopped beating. Then the boy looked at me again and said, “I told my Daddy to tell Mama not to go yet. I told him to tell her to wait till I got back from the store”

Then he asked me if I wanted to see his picture. I told him I would love to. He pulled out some pictures he had taken at the front of the store and said, “I want my Mama to take this with her so she doesn’t ever forget me. I love my Mama so much and I wish she did not have to leave me. But Daddy says she will need to be with my sister.”

I saw that the little boy had lowered his head and had grown so very quiet. While he was not looking I reached into my purse and pulled out a hand full of bills. I asked the little boy, “Shall we count that money one more time?”

He grew excited and said, “Yes, I just know it has to be enough.” So I slipped my money in with his and we began to count it. And of course it was plenty for the doll. He softly said, “Thank you Jesus for giving me enough money.”

The boy continued, “I just asked Jesus to give me enough money to buy this doll so Mama can take it with her to give to my sister. And he heard my prayer. I wanted to ask him for enough to buy my Mama a white rose, but I didn’t ask him, but he gave me enough to buy the doll and a rose for my Mama. She loves white roses so very much.”

In a few minutes the aunt came back and I wheeled my cart away. I could not keep from thinking about the little boy as I finished my shopping in a totally different spirit than when I had started. And I kept remembering a story I had seen in the newspaper several days earlier about a drunk driver hitting a car and killing a little girl and the mother was in serious condition. The family was deciding on rather to remove the life support. Now surely this little boy had no connection to that story, I thought.

Two days later I read in the paper that the family had disconnected the life support and the young woman had died. I could not forget the little boy and just kept wondering if the two were somehow connected.

Later that day, I could not help myself and I went out and bought some white roses and took them to the funeral home where the young woman was. And there she was, holding a lovely white rose, the beautiful doll, and the picture of the little boy in the store.

I left there in tears, my life changed forever. The love that little boy had for his little sister and his mother was overwhelming. And in a split second a drunk driver had ripped the life of that little boy to pieces.
